Every year two of the greatest football teams in the country face off in the biggest game of the season, the Super Bowl. This year the Super Bowl takes place in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 5, 2012 at 6:30pm. The game is between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants. The Patriots won 13 of 16 games this season while the Giants only won 9 of 16 games. This will be the 7th Super Bowl Championship that the New England Patriots have attended and the 5th Super Bowl for the New York Giants. Both teams faced off with one another in the Super Bowl in 2008 which resulted in the Giants defeating the Patriots 17-14.
If watching the actual football game doesn’t peak your fancy then the commercials and halftime show will be sure to grab your attention. The Super Bowl is the most watched event on television of the year. It costs advertisers approximately $3 million to run a 2 minute commercial during the four hours that the game is on television. The halftime show is also one of the biggest events because there is always an extremely well known, talented musician that performs to the 100 million viewers watching the event. This year the Super Bowl halftime show will consist of Madonna, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.
