Old Town Spring Festival

One of the things that I just love about Warrenton is the Old Town Spring Festival that takes place every year in May. This year the festival will be held this coming Saturday, May 19th on the beautiful historic Main Street in Old Town Warrenton. I can remember going to this festival as a kid and truly enjoying everything it had to offer as I walked by all the different craft booths and street performers.
The spring festival usually draws in around 25,000-30,000 people from all over the region. It takes place rain or shine and features over 250 crafters, food vendors and entertainers. The crafters display anything from jewelry to beautiful dream catchers to fun sand art. People can purchase handmade purses, pottery and fine art. There is also delicious food provided by various different street vendors. The food options range from hotdogs and hamburgers to crab cakes and funnel cakes to thirst quenching freshly squeezed lemonade. At the very end of Main Street, in front of the courthouse, different performers entertain people with dance routines and fun, upbeat bluegrass music.
The festival starts mid-morning on Saturday and lasts until mid-afternoon. It is cost free and welcomes people from all over the area to come out and take part in the fun. There really is something for everyone to enjoy at the Warrenton Spring Festival.
